Just for Women: Get More Romance Out of Your Relationship

The desire for romance can burn strong for many women who have been in long-term relationships. As the years pass, so too are changes that may take you away from the romance that you and your partner enjoyed so much early on.

If your partner does not seem as romantically interested as he was before, the reasons probably have more to do with his life today compared to yesterday. Today, there may be more stress at his work, helping raise your children, or simply being in a different place in his life.

But with a few tips, you can get more romance out of your relationship. What follows are a few simple ideas that will help you rekindle your feelings and turn back time to the days when romance was a strong part of your life.

Put in the Work

Like most worthwhile things in life, you have to work at it to get what you want. This means doing the small things that will not only bring out the romantic in you but in your partner as well.

  • Say “I love you” more often
  • Tell your partner what makes them special to you
  • Buy small gifts to express your feelings
  • Make more time to spend with your partner

In other words, it’s going to take a little time to get things going. It may be true that your partner is on the same romantic track which only means that it will start to happen sooner than later. But in any event, be prepared to do a little more work.

Try Something New

One big issue that prevents couples from turning back the clock and rekindling their romance is that they have already been there. Romance stems not from looking backward, but forward to engaging in new things. After all, when your romance burned brightly when you and your partner first started out, it was in large part because everything was new.

Make things new again by choosing an activity or an adventure that is something both of you have not done before. Perhaps traveling to a new place, going to a new restaurant, or simply finding a hobby you can share can help bring a little romance back.

Be Realistic

This doesn’t mean you should curb your goals, but it does mean that it may take more time than you expect. Plus, there may be other issues that need to be addressed before you can really get the romance cooking.

Underlying issues such as stress should be dealt with before fueling up your romance. Otherwise, you will only have a temporary respite, if that, before things go back to the way they were. So, understand the situation that you are in and find ways to bring in the romance the right way.

There is no common ground for all couples. Each will have to find their own way to fire up their romantic feelings. But the effort will be worth it as it not only starts a new chapter in your relationship, you may be able to solve other issues as well which only makes your love grow stronger.
